Exposure Triangle
Learn about The Exposure Triangle comprises an aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. These three camera and lens controls work together to regulate the amount of light that makes it to the light-sensitive surface (aperture and shutter speed) and the sensitivity of that surface (film or digital ISO).
Bokeh
In this lesson, you’ll learn about Bokeh, also known as “Boke” which is one of the most popular subjects in portrait photography. The reason why it is so popular, is because Bokeh makes photographs visually appealing, forcing us to focus our attention on a particular area of the image. The word comes from Japanese language, which literally translates as “blur”.
Shooting Modes
In this lesson, you’ll learn about different camera shooting modes, which fall into three categories: auto, scene, and P, S, A, and M modes. In auto and scene modes the camera controls shutter speed and aperture. While P, S, A, and M modes are known as exposure modes and give photographers a choice as to which elements of exposure—aperture or shutter speed—they wish to control.
Composition
In this lesson, you’ll learn to work with different backgrounds and using them creatively, rule of thirds, using leading lines and surroundings to make environmental portraits.
